Your family is the group of people who are closest to you. Itās where you belong, and they are the people who take care of you. Hereās how to talk about them in English!
1. The Basic Family Members:
- Mother ā This is your mom or mum. Sheās the one who takes care of you and loves you very much!
(Example: My motherās name is Maria.) - Father ā This is your dad or papa. Heās also there to support and protect you!
(Example: My fatherās name is John.) - Brother ā A boy in your family who shares the same parents as you.
(Example: I have one brother.) - Sister ā A girl in your family who shares the same parents as you.
(Example: I have two sisters.)
2. More Family Members:
- Grandmother ā This is your momās mom or dadās mom.
(Example: My grandmother lives with us.) - Grandfather ā This is your momās dad or dadās dad.
(Example: My grandfather loves to tell stories.) - Uncle ā Your momās brother or dadās brother.
(Example: My uncle plays video games with me.) - Aunt ā Your momās sister or dadās sister.
(Example: My aunt is very funny.) - Cousin ā The children of your uncle or aunt. They can be a boy or a girl.
(Example: I have two cousins. They are both girls.)
