Cat: Meow

Cow: Moo

Animal Habitats

Habitat is a word to describe where different animals live:

Forests: Lions, monkeys, tigers

Oceans: Dolphins, whales, sharks

Deserts: Camels, snakes, lizards

Jungles: Elephants, gorillas, tigers

Arctic Regions: Polar bears, penguins, seals


Describing Animals

We can describe animals in fun ways:

Size: small, big, tiny, huge
Example: ā€œThe elephant is huge, and the rabbit is tiny.ā€

Color: black, white, brown, gray, yellow
Example: ā€œMy cat is black and white.ā€

Habitat: farm, jungle, forest, sea, desert
Example: ā€œLions live in the jungle.ā€

Sounds: bark, meow, roar, moo, oink, chirp
Example: ā€œDogs bark, cats meow, and lions roar.ā€

Colors

Colors are the different shades we see around us! They make the world beautiful and help us describe things like clothes, animals, food, and objects.

Here are the main colors and their names in English:

You can use colors to describe things. The color word comes before the noun in English.

Examples:

Describing Clothes

When you talk about clothes, you can describe them by:

Color:

  • ā€œI am wearing a blue t-shirt.ā€
  • ā€œShe has a red skirt.ā€

Type / Style:

  • ā€œHe is wearing jeans and a white shirt.ā€
  • ā€œI like striped socks.ā€

Weather / Occasion:

  • ā€œI wear a jacket in winter.ā€
  • ā€œI wear shorts in summer.ā€
