Places in a city are different buildings and areas where people live, work, shop, learn, and have fun. Here are some of them:

For Learning and Work

  • School – Where children and teenagers go to learn.
    Example: ā€œI go to school every day.ā€
  • University – Where adults study after high school.
    Example: ā€œMy sister studies at the university.ā€
  • Office / Bank – Places adults work or manage money.
    Example: ā€œMy dad works in an office.ā€

For Shopping and Food

  • Supermarket / Grocery Store – Where you buy food and drinks.
    Example: ā€œI buy bread at the supermarket.ā€
  • Restaurant / Cafe – Places to eat or drink.
    Example: ā€œWe eat pizza at the restaurant.ā€
  • Shopping Center / Mall – A big place with many shops.
    Example: ā€œI buy clothes at the shopping center.ā€

For Fun and Leisure

  • Cinema / Movie Theater – Where you watch movies.
    Example: ā€œWe watch a film at the cinema.ā€
  • Park – A green area to walk, play, or relax.
    Example: ā€œI play football in the park.ā€
  • Zoo – A place to see animals.
    Example: ā€œI love visiting the zoo.ā€

For Travel and Transport

  • Bus Station / Train Station – Where you catch a bus or train.
    Example: ā€œThe train station is next to the park.ā€
  • Airport – Where you travel by plane.
    Example: ā€œWe go to the airport to fly to another city.ā€

Other Important Places

  • Hospital / Clinic – Where you go when you’re sick.
    Example: ā€œI visit the hospital when I am sick.ā€
  • Post Office – Where you send letters or packages.
    Example: ā€œI send a postcard at the post office.ā€
  • Police Station / Fire Station – Places that help people and keep the city safe.
    Example: ā€œThe police station is near the supermarket.ā€
