Knowing how to ask for and give directions helps you navigate your city or find places in new areas. Itās very useful when youāre traveling, meeting friends, or even exploring a new city.
Common Phrases for Asking for Directions

When youāre lost or need help finding a place, these are some easy questions you can use:
- āHow do I get to [place]?ā
Example: āHow do I get to the park?ā - āWhere is [place]?ā
Example: āWhere is the bus station?ā - āCan you tell me the way to [place]?ā
Example: āCan you tell me the way to the supermarket?ā - āIs it [place] from here?ā
Example: āIs the library far from here?ā - āWhich way to [place]?ā
Example: āWhich way to the school?ā

Common Phrases for Giving Directions
To give directions, you need to know these expressions. Try to learn them and understand what each one means.

Also, remember that in English āmanzana (espacio urbano delimitado por calles por todos los lados)ā = āblockā. So, āsiga recto 2 manzanasā in English would be: āGo straight 2 blocks.ā
When someone asks where to go, you can give clear directions with these phrases:
