-Describe the major characteristics of World War I, including total war, trench warfare, modern military technology, and high casualty rates.
-Summarize the impact of World War I on political, economic, and social systems at the global level.
-Identify and describe the causes of the 1917 Russian Revolution and its impact on the outcome of World War I.
-Debate the idea that World War I was inevitable considering the nationalism, militarism, and imperialism of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
