Skeletal System Parts and Functions

Learning goals:
- Students should be able to identify and label major bones in the human skeleton, including the axial and appendicular skeleton.
- Differentiate between various joint types (e.g., hinge, ball-and-socket, pivot) and understand their functions.
- Explore the primary functions of the skeletal system, including support, protection, movement, mineral storage, blood cell formation, and endocrine regulation.
- Examine the movements allowed by different types of joints and understand the muscles responsible for these movements.
- Conduct research on a specific aspect of the skeletal system and present findings through written reports or oral presentations.

Learning activities:
Cerebrity activities: Students will develop the activity together with the teacher. As they identify the parts of the human skeletal system they will indicate the function of that part. https://www.cerebriti.com/juegos-de-ciencias/skeletal-system https://www.cerebriti.com/juegos-de-ciencias/the-skeletal-system
POPPLET ACTIVITY: Using the popplet application, students will create a mind map based on the topic of the Skeletal system. They will have a specific time to search for information on the internet or based on what they have seen in class and then share their mind map with the class.
Kahoot:Ā To evaluate the knowledge acquired, students will actively participate in a kahoot game, which will allow them to reinforce and identify any shortcomings they may have with the content explained. https://play.kahoot.it/v2/?quizId=0469532f-e637-4fb7-a4bc-fddf49fd0ce9
Padlet: Students will have a padlet board that will allow them to share their prior knowledge and their final knowledge based on the topic of the human brain. https://padlet.com/luis519/skeletal-sytem-71cju9277bef2kvg
