Learning activities:

Warm-up (10 minutes): Guess the Destination

  • Begin the lesson with the initial warm-up activity to set a positive and engaging tone.

Activity 1 (20 minutes): Create Your Dream Itinerary

  1. Introduction (5 minutes):
    • Discuss the importance of planning when traveling and the excitement of exploring a new country.
  2. Country Selection (10 minutes):
    • Allow each student to choose a country they would like to “visit.”
    • If there are duplicates, encourage students to explore different aspects or regions within the same country.
  3. Research and Itinerary Planning (25 minutes):
    • Instruct students to research their chosen country, focusing on tourist attractions, cultural activities, and interesting places.
    • Ask them to create a daily itinerary for a week-long trip. Include details like places to visit, activities, meals, and transportation.
  4. Group Discussion (15 minutes):
    • Form small groups and have students share their itineraries with their group members.
    • Encourage discussion within the groups, allowing students to ask questions and provide feedback on each other’s plans.
  5. Presentation (15 minutes):
    • Select a few students to present their itineraries to the whole class.
    • Encourage creativity and vivid descriptions, and ask them to explain the reasoning behind their choices.

Activity 2 (15 minutes): Travel Story Time

  • Proceed with the original plan for the Travel Story Time activity where each student shares a fictional travel story.

Activity 3 (15 minutes): Role-Play – Booking a Trip

  • Continue with the original plan for the role-play activity where students practice booking a trip.

Closure (10 minutes): Travel Trivia Game

  • Wrap up the lesson with the Travel Trivia Game as originally suggested.
