Introduction (10 minutes):
Welcome students and provide an overview of the lesson objectives.
Discuss the importance of negotiation pitches in securing investment and advancing business ideas.
Share examples of successful negotiation pitches from real-world entrepreneurs or companies.
Step 1: Understanding the Components of a Negotiation Pitch (15 minutes):
Introduce the key components of a negotiation pitch: Introduction, Problem Statement, Solution, Market Opportunity, Business Model, Team and Execution Plan, and Call to Action.
Discuss the purpose and importance of each component in engaging investors and securing their interest.
Step 2: Analyzing Sample Negotiation Pitches (20 minutes):
Present examples of negotiation pitches (videos or transcripts) or use sample templates.
Break down each pitch and analyze how the components are structured and presented.
Encourage students to identify strengths and weaknesses in each pitch and discuss what makes them persuasive or ineffective.
Step 3: Crafting a Negotiation Pitch (30 minutes):
Divide students into small groups and assign each group a fictional or real idea, product, or invention to develop a negotiation pitch for.
Provide guidance on brainstorming and structuring their pitches, focusing on addressing the key components discussed earlier.
Encourage students to consider their target audience, market research, and competitive analysis while developing their pitches.
Step 4: Practice and Peer Feedback (15 minutes):
Each group presents their negotiation pitch to the class.
