Cold War Espionage Role-Play
Objective: Explore the world of Cold War espionage and understand its impact on international relations.
Materials:
- Role cards for spies, double agents, and intelligence officers
- Secret mission briefs
- Encrypted messages for decoding
Instructions:
- Assign Roles: Give each student a role card with a specific mission (e.g., gather intelligence, plant false information, recruit a double agent).
- Mission Briefing: Hand out secret mission briefs and encrypted messages. Students must decode their messages to understand their objectives.
- Role-Play: Students move around the classroom, interacting with others to complete their missions. They must use strategy and persuasion to achieve their goals without revealing their true identities.
- Debrief: Discuss how espionage influenced Cold War politics and the outcomes of the role-play scenarios.
