Learning goals:
By the end of this class students are going to be able to:

  • Recognize the structure of an invitation email (event details, date, time, location, RSVP instructions).
  • Understand the importance of clarity and conciseness in invitation writing.
  • Draft a clear and compelling event invitation email using appropriate language.
  • Understand the various ways to express acceptance, regrets, or the need for more information.
  • Learn how to acknowledge and respond to invitations appropriately.
  • Apply the skills learned in class to real-life scenarios by drafting and sending invitations for actual or hypothetical events.

Learning activities:
1.- Students are going to work on their books pages 44 and 45.

2.- Invitation Writing Practice: Students will choose a hypothetical event and draft a complete invitation, ensuring all essential details are included. They can also create a virtual one in order to attach it later in the formal email.

3.-Email Signature Exercise: Students are going to create professional email signatures that include essential information about the invitation.

4.-Invitation Response Simulation: Students are going to practice writing appropriate responses to each type of invitation.

5.-Role-Playing Exercise: Teacher is going to assign roles, and students are going to participate in a role-playing game where they practice drafting and responding to invitations in realistic situations.
