Learning goals:
By the end of this learning period, Students should be able to confidently apply the quadratic formula to solve quadratic equations.
Resources:
La pizarra en linea de google, donde se resolverƔn problemas en vivo.
Learning activities:
- Conceptual Understanding:
- Watch online tutorials or attend classes that explain the derivation and concept behind the quadratic formula.
- Create flashcards with the quadratic formula on one side and the meaning of each term (a, b, c, discriminant) on the other. Quiz yourself regularly.
- Coefficient Identification:
- Practice identifying coefficients from given quadratic equations. Start with simple equations and gradually move to more complex ones.
- Create a set of random quadratic equations and challenge yourself to quickly identify the coefficients.
- Solving Equations:
- Solve a variety of quadratic equations using the quadratic formula. Gradually increase the difficulty level.
- Work on problems where the solutions involve real numbers, complex numbers, or repeated roots.
